PINEVILLE– Today the Kisatchie National Forest announced the opening of the Loran Campground. This new campground will serve the users of the Claiborne Multiple-Use Trails. The Loran Campground provides facilities for campers and motor homes. The Recreation Enhancement Act allows campground fees to be used for adding facilities and amenities to the national forest system. A charge of $3.00 per campsite and $3.00 per operator for use of the trail will be used to continue campground amenities and to maintain the trail for this site.

In addition the Forest Service will soon charge for trail use on the Claiborne trails. These fees will be used to enhance and maintain the trails. The Forest Service will install a fee station at Ahtus Melder Camp. The fee will be $3.00 per horse operator.
